We battle-tested Venice AI vs. Gab AI to see which one is actually better.
Venice AI and Gab AI are two AI tools that sit on a similar road.
Both are marketed as more private alternatives to mainstream AI platforms. Both give you access to multiple AI models, have free and paid plans, and let you generate text and images. But they are not the same.
There are things to like and dislike about both.
We tested them so that you don’t have to waste your time. Instead, you can just read this.
Let’s party.
Contender 1: Overview of Venice AI
Venice AI is a private, uncensored AI platform that gives you access to chat, image generation, characters, document uploads, web search, voice, and creative features.
It’s been around since 2024.
Its two biggest selling points are privacy and uncensored capabilities, which maximize your creative freedom.
We’ve been using Venice for the past two or so years.
Now, let’s check out the newer kid on the AI block: Gab.
Contender 2: Overview of Gab AI
Gab AI is also an all-in-one AI platform.
It launched in 2025, so it’s a bit newer.
Gab AI can generate text, images, video, music, and speech. It also supports file uploads, web search, collections, custom agents, memory, and voice mode. It gives users access to a long list of AI models, including models from OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, DeepSeek, xAI, Alibaba, Perplexity, and more. Gab also has its own model called Arya.
Gab AI also has an AI Tools page, and this is where Gab gets more interesting. It includes tools like an AI Blog Post Writer, AI Translator, AI LinkedIn Post Generator, AI Fact Checker, and more. I tested the translator and fact checker, and both were better than expected.
So, feature-wise, Gab AI is not playing around.
Neither of these two contenders will go down swinging.
Venice AI Strengths vs. Gab AI
1. Venice AI Has Better Privacy
One of Venice’s biggest advantages is privacy.
Gab AI markets itself as private, and it does anonymize requests when routing prompts to third-party models. That is good.
But Venice goes further. Venice says it does not store your prompts or responses anywhere on its servers, and it offers stronger privacy options like TEE and end-to-end encryption.
For casual prompts, this may not matter much. But if you are working with private business ideas, personal or medical information, sensitive documents, or creative assets you do not want floating around forever, Venice is the safer pick.
2. Venice AI Is Much More Uncensored
Venice also wins on uncensored AI.
Gab’s branding might make you expect a very open AI experience, but in actual testing, Gab felt much, much more restricted than Venice. I tested multiple models.
This was especially noticeable in voice mode. Gab’s voice mode also broke or stopped responding twice within one minute of testing. That could have been bad luck, but it did not exactly inspire confidence.
With Gab, I couldn’t get it to produce NSFW images or text, conspiratorial responses, non-woke stuff, political satire, you name it. I couldn’t get it to do essentially anything that ChatGPT won’t let you do.

3. Venice AI Has Characters
Venice has Characters. Gab does not have the same thing.
Characters are fun and, in my opinion, one of the best parts of Venice.
Characters let you create reusable AI setups with specific instructions, files, behavior, personality, and purpose. They are useful for writing, research, roleplay, coaching, brainstorming, and repeating workflows. But they are mainly focused on literal character chat.
You can make your own or use community-built characters, including Characters from Run The Prompts.
If you like GPTs in ChatGPT, you will probably like Characters in Venice.
4. Venice AI Has a Better Creative Workflow
Venice Studio and the Venice Feed are other major strengths.
Studio gives you one place for creative AI tasks like images, video, audio, and editing. Gab has creative tools too, but Venice feels more natural for people creating content, testing prompts, building characters, and making assets.
For creators, Venice feels more like a workshop than Gab.
5. Venice AI Is the Better Value for Most Users
Venice Pro is $18/month and includes unlimited text prompts with multiple included models, 1,000 images per day, Pro models, custom characters, encrypted chat backup, advanced features, and monthly credits.
Gab AI Plus is $20/month or $150/year, and it gives you unlimited chats with its default model, access to many models via credits, several AI tools, API access, and 2,000 monthly credits.
Gab’s plan is not bad. But because Gab uses credits, the value is harder to judge. Heavier models and features can burn through credits faster.
Venice is easier to understand and gives most creators more for the money.
Gab AI Strengths vs. Venice AI
1. Gab AI Lets You Import ChatGPT Conversations
Gab took a page out of the Anthropic playbook with this one.
The tool lets you import your ChatGPT conversations. Venice does not currently offer this.
If you have years of ChatGPT history, this will matter to you. No normal person wants to manually copy old chats one by one.
For people switching away from ChatGPT, Gab makes the move easier.
2. Gab AI Has Built-In AI Tools
Gab’s AI Tools page is genuinely useful.
It includes tools like an AI Blog Post Writer, AI Translator, AI LinkedIn Post Generator, AI Fact Checker, and more.

Yes, you can recreate a lot of this inside Venice with good prompts or Characters. But Gab puts these tools directly in the interface, which makes it easier for beginners and faster for casual users.
3. Gab AI Has Tasks
Gab AI has a Tasks feature, and Venice does not.
Tasks are basically scheduled prompts. You can set prompts to run automatically on a schedule, similar to what you can do in ChatGPT, Claude, and Codex.
That could be useful for things like:
- Daily AI news summaries
- Weekly content ideas
- Recurring research
- Automated reminders
- Repeated business workflows
This is one of Gab’s more practical features, especially for people using AI as part of a routine or business.
4. Gab AI Has Decks
Gab’s Decks feature is interesting.
It lets you generate up to 12 columns of text, image, video, music, voice, and tools side by side.
Venice does not have a feature like this.
For comparing outputs, running multiple generations, or working across several AI tasks at once, Decks could be useful. It is a little nerdy, but that’s okay.

5. Gab AI Has More Ways to Earn Free Credits
Gab gives users different ways to earn free credits to use on their AI generations.
You can earn credits by completing basic actions like importing chats, trying voice mode, uploading a file, and more. You can also claim 10 free credits daily from the Earn Credits tab.
Venice does not have this same credit-earning setup, with the exception of its refer-a-friend program.
Who Venice AI Is Best For
Venice AI is best for people who care about privacy, uncensored answers, creative workflows, and control.
Use Venice if you:
- Want stronger privacy protections
- Want uncensored AI
- Like building or using AI Characters
- Create a lot of images, videos, audio, or written content
- Want custom system prompts
- Want a better value on unlimited chat and image generation
- Use AI for sensitive personal or business work
- Want an AI tool that feels built more for creators

Gab AI is best for people who want an all-in-one AI dashboard with a lot of built-in structure and out-of-the-box tools.
Use Gab AI if you:
- Want to import ChatGPT conversations
- Like built-in AI tools
- Want scheduled tasks
- Think the Decks feature is neat
- Like earning free credits
- Want keyboard shortcuts
- Prefer a more guided interface
- Want many models in one account
- Do not care as much about uncensored output or privacy
Gab AI is also a good fit for people who do not want to build everything from scratch.
If you want a menu of pre-built tools, Gab makes sense.
The biggest difference between Venice and Gab has to be uncensored output and privacy.
Which Tool Is the Better Value for the Money?
Venice AI is the better value for most people.
The reason is simple: the $18/month Pro plan gives you unlimited text prompts, 1,000 images per day, Pro models, custom characters, advanced features, encrypted chat backup, and more. 2,000 monthly credits are good, but Gab’s credit system makes the value harder to judge. If you use heavier models, longer chats, image generation, video, audio, file uploads, or web search, the cost can change. Gab says every request costs at least 1 credit, but costs vary by model and usage type.

Gab may be better if you care more about Tasks, Decks, built-in AI tools, and importing ChatGPT conversations.
But for privacy, creative work, uncensored output, and general value, Venice wins.
Wrapping It Up – Is Venice Better Than Gab?
So, Venice AI vs. Gab AI. Who wins?
For me, Venice AI wins overall.
You might think I’m biased since Venice is an affiliate of Run The Prompts, but I’ve been using Venice every day for over two years, so I’m extremely familiar with its value.
I will say, however, that Gab AI is better than I expected. The AI Tools page is useful. Tasks are smart. Decks are interesting. ChatGPT import is a strong feature. Keyboard shortcuts are nice. The credit-earning system is clever. Gab clearly has momentum, and I can see how certain users will like it.
But Venice is still the better choice for most Run The Prompts readers.
Gab AI is worth trying, especially if you want built-in tools and automations.
But if I had to pick one, I would pick Venice.
