We ended things with Venice in June 2026 due to what we considered to be a horrible situation involving Venice’s shady, greedy management team (read about it in our updated review), and since then, I’ve had multiple people ask me what I would consider to be the best Venice AI alternative.
Because if I don’t recommend Venice AI anymore, then where should you turn, and is there anything else like Venice?
Also, before we begin, you need to know something. If there is anyone on the planet who knows anything about Venice AI, it’s me. I was their #1 affiliate and brand ambassador. I take my Venice content seriously (or, in this case, anti-Venice content), so I’m pretty sure you’ll find at least one alternative tool in this list that you enjoy.
So, here it is. I finally got around to making this article. I kept putting it off.
Let’s party without Venice.
What Were Venice AI’s Two Biggest Selling Points?
After you shake out all of the nuts and screws from Venice AI, it all boils down to two major strengths: uncensored and private.
So, for this article, we’re going to focus on AI tools like Venice that can help you do both things. Those are the two selling points that we will look to solve for you.
Now, I know some people will argue that Venice is not “truly” uncensored, or is not uncensored enough, or whatever your definition of uncensored might be. Others will say that Venice AI is not private because they still have never had an independent third-party privacy audit (which is correct).
So, if both of those things are true, then I guess finding a Venice AI alternative will be easy for you because the product sucked to begin with.
Personally, as you know, I don’t trust Venice any more.
Best Venice AI Alternatives for Private AI
In no specific order, here they are:
1. Siri AI

My recommendation here is going to shock some people, but I don’t care.
Some of you will hate me for this if you hate this company, while others will be relieved because they are already hooked into the ecosystem.
I would recommend Siri AI for private, everyday chats. With that said, I’m referring to literally opening the Siri AI app and typing in your questions. I’ve found big issues recently with trying to trigger Siri with my voice, as well as getting good responses with voice. Hopefully that changes.
If you already have an iPhone or Mac, this is essentially free, or at least for now (will that change? I don’t know).
I realize that Apple is a giant corporation, so how anyone could trust them with anything is a bit insane, but if you do any amount of research into their Private Cloud Compute, you’ll see that what they’ve accomplished here is pretty damn good.
Of course, I don’t work at Apple, so it’s impossible for me to sit here and say that I know for certain that it’s 100% private and secure, but it certainly appears to be.
The downsides of Siri AI are easy to spot after using it for even a few minutes. The biggest con is its lack of features. Personally, I think this was by design so that they can release “new updates” to it over the next few years, but that’s just my own little conspiracy theory. Regardless of being insanely simple, it still works for any one-off questions or situations, especially ones that you’d like to keep private.
Bottom line: if you already have a compatible Apple device, and you just want to ask the AI some basic to fairly basic questions, then Siri AI usually works just fine for private chats.
2. Local Models via Ollama or LM Studio

This will come as no surprise to anyone who’s been following the AI scene for any length of time.
Local models run on your own machine, which means the prompts and responses never have to leave your computer and end up getting transmitted onto the internet.
However, there is a catch. Most intelligent local AI models require a fairly powerful computer, although that is changing fast with models like Google’s Gemma 4.
One of the biggest upsides, though, is once you have your computer running a local model, there is no cost to use it other than electricity.
I’m personally a huge fan of the GLM series of models, as well as DeepSeek.
I’d recommend downloading either Ollama or LMStudio to get started chatting with local models. Both are free downloads. Experiment with some different models and see if you can find one that works well for you.
3. Tinfoil Chat

Yes, the name of the product is actually Tinfoil.
Put on your tinfoil hat, and then fire up your Tinfoil chat.
Tinfoil chat is marketed as private AI, and it appears legit. In situations like this, it’s actually fun and exciting to read a privacy policy, so here is Tinfoil’s privacy policy.
I would’ve loved to try it, but there’s no free plan listed. And I wasn’t about to spend $20.00 testing something for an article Google probably won’t rank anyway because they steal most of my content.
Tinfoil says its AI runs inside protected hardware environments that prevent the company and its infrastructure providers from reading your conversations. Chats aren’t used for model training, and saved backups are encrypted with keys held on your device.
It still collects account, billing, IP, and usage information. The privacy protection focuses on your conversation content, which is the most important piece. Optional web searches also send queries to outside websites, such as Google.
It looks promising for privacy, but I can’t personally judge the chat quality without testing it. It connects to many popular models, though, so I’m assuming the chats work just fine.
Best Venice AI Alternatives for Uncensored AI
Also, in no specific order, here are our picks:
1. Dzine AI

Dzine has been one of the Run The Prompts darlings and affiliates for over a year now.
Nobody really talks about them much, which I still find strange, because it’s a great underground tool.
The first thing you need to understand about Dzine is this: it offers uncensored image and video creation, but not uncensored chats. Also, to generate either one, you’d need to subscribe to their Master plan (or higher). Lastly, you won’t find anything on their website that mentions that the tool includes uncensored AI, but trust me, it’s there, and I’ve tested it.
When it comes to uncensored images and videos, Dzine gives you access to some of the best AI models and features around for getting the job done. I’d personally recommend Wan or the Dzine Video models.
It also includes several easy-to-use features and add-ons that make editing your images and videos much easier than tools like what you’d find in the Adobe suite. Think of it as a difficulty that’s somewhere in between Canva and Adobe Photoshop.
Read our full Dzine AI review to learn more.
2. Unstable Diffusion

Unstable Diffusion is an image-focused alternative for people who are tired of having harmless prompts rejected.
For this list, think uncensored images. I couldn’t verify an uncensored chat or video feature.
The platform offers over 120 models, including Stable Diffusion, SDXL, Pony, and Illustrious, plus thousands of add-ons for controlling styles and other details. You’ll need to choose the right model, because the models have different content restrictions.
Also, its usage policy explicitly permits adult content within its stated rules. That gives its uncensored positioning something concrete to stand on.
Unstable Diffusion isn’t new. TechCrunch was covering the project back in 2022. It has an established history, although I couldn’t verify enough independent ratings to confidently call it “highly rated.”
3. Uncensored AI

Uncensored AI is another great contender as an alternative to Venice.
Although this tool is more private than most AI products, it’s not private enough for me to label it as a private tool, and that’s why I’m categorizing it under the “strictly uncensored” section.
We’ve used and have been affiliated with Uncensored AI for several months now, and the amount of output you get even from the free version is highly impressive.
It supported uncensored text, image, and video, with a large selection of models.
4. Rogue Studio

Rogue Studio takes a more cinematic maneuver in uncensored AI.
Its whole pitch is making the R-rated movies in your head. Horror, thrillers, adult scenes, and other ideas that mainstream generators tend to shut down.
It offers image and video creation, including its own adult-oriented models. Its Rogue 1.0 video model is specifically positioned for uncensored adult content.
Rogue Studio is a newer product, with its launch covered by WIRED in August 2026. WIRED also verified that its founders work in Hollywood and have a lot of filmmaking experience. That gives it more credibility than an anonymous website promising unlimited AI magic.
Best Venice AI Alternatives for Uncensored + Private AI (Combined)
You might be asking yourself, “Wait… are you saying there are no tools available that can be private and uncensored at the same time, just like Venice?”
Kind of, but kind of not.
Regardless, I think most people fall into the camp of either really wanting private AI or uncensored AI. I think it’s rare to have both on the “must-have” list.
This is what we found (again, in no specific order).
1. Icelake
A “startup” called Icelake claimed to be both private and uncensored, and they even reached out to me. Their website and branding looked suspiciously like Venice. But I later found that they were simply using Venice’s API, charging very little for monthly subscriptions, and have apparently faded into oblivion as a quick cash-grab scam because their website is no longer accessible.
I’m only including Icelake on this list to warn you all that fly-by-night AI companies do exist, and this is a prime example of one of them. Icelake is scum.
2. NanoGPT

NanoGPT is similar to Venice. It offers both private and uncensored AI, a media studio, image, video, and audio creation, as well as AI apps. Out of all of the options on this page, this is the closest overall app to Venice AI.
It offers a large selection of models, including uncensored options. Choose your model carefully, though, because the platform also includes mainstream models with their usual restrictions.
For privacy, NanoGPT says it doesn’t log or retain your prompts and responses during normal use by default. Turn on “ZDR only” in the privacy settings to restrict requests to providers that promise zero data retention and no model training.
There’s one catch: NanoGPT relies on outside providers to run the models, and it acknowledges that it can’t independently audit their internal data handling. Ordinary routes still let NanoGPT and the selected provider process your messages in readable form, so the exact privacy protection depends on your settings and provider.
3. Private LLM

Private LLM is a generic, boring name, but it’s not a boring tool.
It does what the name promises: it provides you with access to private models (some of which are uncensored, such as Dolphin) running directly on your device.
So, it’s a similar concept to Ollama or LMStudio, but it’s not exactly the same. Private LLM claims that it’s faster, only uses models that are quantised, and is lightweight. The current price is $4.99 (one-time), which is a bit higher than Ollama and LMStudio’s free price tag, but the benefits could be worth it.
Also, note that this tool can generate uncensored responses, but only text-based (no images or videos). Also, keep in mind that all models must run on your device, so expect to be communicating with models that are not nearly as powerful as the latest and greatest from OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.
There are a lot of similar tools out there like Private LLM, but this one has great reviews and works as intended.
Venice AI Alternatives FAQ
NanoGPT is the closest option to Venice on this list. It gives you access to lots of AI models, including uncensored ones, plus image and video tools. Just check which model you are using. Some still have restrictions, and privacy depends on your settings and who runs the model.
Yes. Ollama and LM Studio are free to download, and you can use local models without paying monthly or per message. You will need a computer that can run the model you choose. Also, not every model is uncensored, so check that before downloading one.
If you want to write adult stories or have uncensored text chats, try NanoGPT or a local model through Ollama, LM Studio, or Private LLM. Choose an uncensored model and see how well it handles your writing. The Dzine and Unstable Diffusion recommendations above are for visual content, not this kind of text chat.
Dzine and Rogue Studio offer image and video creation. Unstable Diffusion focuses on images. Before paying, check which models allow the content you want to make and which plan you need. A tool that allows adult images may still have different rules for videos.
No, using NanoGPT is different from running a model on your own device. Your prompts still go to the company running the model. With “ZDR only” turned on, NanoGPT uses providers that say they do not save your prompts or responses. It cannot independently check their servers, though. With a fully local model, your chats can stay on your device.
Yes. Ollama, LM Studio, Private LLM, and others, can run downloaded models on your device without internet access. Download the app and model first, then use a local model for your chats. Web search and cloud models still need an internet connection.
Not always. Smaller models can run on less powerful computers. Larger models need more memory and may run better with a good graphics card. LM Studio recommends at least 16GB of RAM. Check the requirements and try a smaller model first to see how it runs.
Wrapping It Up – What’s the Best App that’s Like Venice AI?
The best Venice AI alternative comes down to a matter of what you’re looking for and what your situation is.
If you’re looking for something that’s as close as possible to Venice (uncensored and private), then check out Nano GPT. If privacy only matters to you, and you’re on an Apple device, then use Siri AI. Are you not on an Apple device and want privacy? Use Tinfoil chat or a local model if you have a powerful machine. Lastly, if you just want something uncensored, use Dzine.
Did I miss anything? What do you think of these tools? Let me know how you plan to replace Venice in the comments section below.
Until next time, remember to run the prompts and prompt the planet.

I notice that under the uncensored section, you focused on NSFW/Uncensored Image/Video tools… which makes sense, I think there’s a large demand for that. But I’m actually looking for a more traditional chat-based tool to discuss/work on some NSFW storylines and other text based questions/work. It looks like that the only tools you mention around that would be NanoGPT or a local installed LLM. Is that a fair characterization? And what about Uncensored AI, which you list on your Best AI Tools… where would it fall on this list of Venice alternatives?
Hi PsyberSkald, for just uncensored chat-based AI, it depends on if you have a semi-powerful machine to work with. If you do, then just run a local model. If you don’t, try out NanoGPT and see if you like it. Uncensored AI is great for uncensored content but I wouldn’t recommend them as offering full privacy. Thanks for running the prompts with us.
I -think- my machine can probably handle a locally run model: Ryzen 9 3900 with 64GB RAM and a NVidia 4090 with 24GB VRAM. Do you have, or can you recommend, any specific instructions/guides on how to set one up, and what model(s) I should look at using for uncensored capable chat?
I’m not sure about that specific machine. I’d recommend Ollama and downloading a semi-large uncensored model and going from there and downgrading to a model that’s less powerful if it doesn’t work.
Tinfoil.sh reminds me of Venice.ai early days. Limited model selection, with a mix of frontier and smaller models, simple GUI and settings with a focus on radical privacy. While both claim they cannot read what you say, the main difference is that Tinfoil.sh puts on a “hard-no” list, while Venice.ai claims absolutely no censorship, which obviously attracted scathing indictments from cybersecurity sites back then and gradually became “unrestricted” and now just “private” as a main selling point, while uncensored is an afterthought.
Also, it makes me wonder, where did the crypto anarchist Erik Voorhees go and his relation to this downfall (or rise, because it is now booming and its cryptocurrency token VVV kept shooting up lately). Another thing is Venice.ai once removed DeepSeek R1 which caused a massive outcry from the community, which they cited as “cost” and “low usage.” Furthermore almost all of the good Venice.ai models (and by extension Uncensored, unfortunately, and NanoGPT) seem to be all Big AI (G/OAI/A\), which are not private. XAI seems amenable to granting proxies ZDR on request, even Venice.ai marks all Grok models as private, but they have not been frontier for a long while.
I checked all of these options and felt NanoGPT was too complicated and even then, its tie to cryptocurrencies, again, just felt too resemblant of Venice.ai. I also do not want 500+ models, but it appears NanoGPT is the strongest contender against integrated AI suites from Big AI and is quite feature rich. I think saying NanoGPT is “most similar” to Venice.ai id a massive understatement, considering Venice.ai agent chat is severely crippled and bound to a small selection of models, while classic chat only gives text. Uncensored did not felt that private, and I wanted privacy too.
The thing is, from day one, Venice.ai did have a hidden “CONTENT MODERATION RULES” even if you disable Venice system prompt, so in some ways, Tinfoil.sh, with its publicized “Safeguards” system prompt only adds restrictions on CBRN weapons and sexual content of minors, which makes it theoretically highly uncensored compared to ChatGPT and Gemini. Again, I owe you for helping me discover unheard-of AI services, and I hope Tinfoil.sh will do it for me in the long run.
Hello again, Amigo. I’m glad we helped you find cool AI tools that you haven’t heard of before. Just like your last comment, I agree with a lot of what you’re saying here. Venice is still pretty uncensored to me, but I know back in the day it was more so. Maybe I did underplay the similarities between NanoGPT and Venice because they have a lot of similarities. Thanks again!
