There’s something new brewing over at Venice.AI, and while it’s not exactly going to shatter the space-time continuum, it is impressive. Especially considering this is coming from a small team, potentially small enough to share a Keurig machine. But it must be one hell of a coffee strain because the team keeps pumping out cool new features.
Meet Venice’s “Upscale and Enhance”
Venice introduced a fresh feature called Upscale and Enhance, and it’s like a protein shake for your images. Think bigger, cleaner, sharper, and better. Not game-changing, but a nice step forward from our Venetian friends.
Important note: At the moment, it’s only available to Pro subscribers. Lucky for you, you run the prompts with us, so you get 20% off a Pro subscription with promo code “RUN20“.
Here’s how it breaks down:
- Upscale: Need a bigger image without losing the magic? Choose “Upscale.” It boosts your resolution without transforming your masterpiece into a pixelated mess. Venice currently supports 2X and 4X. 4X will make your images large enough to print, depending on the size you’re going for.
- Enhance: Looking for a bit more flair? Select “Enhance.” It doesn’t just scale — it adds refined details that elevate the original image. I recommend turning this ON. Adjust the creativity settings carefully if you prefer a consistent look.
How To Upscale and Enhance an Image
It’s simple. Just follow these steps.
1. Generate an image. Use the prompts in this post (below) as jet fuel.
2. Click on it to enlarge it.
3. Click on “Upscale & Enhance”

4. Select “4X” next to “Scale” for the highest quality image.

5. Turn on “Enhance.”
6. Optional: Adjust the Creativity and Adherence settings. These will give the machine more wiggle room to alter the image as it sees fit.
7. Click “Enhance 4X.”
Keep in mind that upscaled images are very large and take up a lot of space on your computer. However, for those really awesome creations (that happens for you too, right?), it’s worth having a crystal-clear copy. This is especially true if you plan on printing it or using it for any professional or semi-professional work.
Also, as of now, Venice doesn’t support upscaling or enhancing your own images outside of the Venice.AI generator. Maybe sometime soon, we’ll see.
They Also Released Their Own Image Model: Venice SD35
Well… kind of. Venice tweaked the current Stable Diffusion 3.5 image generator. It’s called Venice SD35, and I suggest giving it a test. Well, it’s the new default model, so you probably will without even trying.
What sets it apart?
- Natural Language Understanding: Venice SD35 processes prompts in conversational language. You can describe your vision as you would to a human artist — full sentences, natural phrasing, less reliance on keyword stuffing. This is the direction most AI image generators are taking, and it’s not surprising… it’s easier.
- Custom Image Pipeline: Venice runs a specialized ComfyUI workflow that optimizes the backend processing. The result is a cleaner, sharper, and overall better image compared to standard implementations.
While Venice SD35 is not currently the best model available on the platform (in my opinion), it is their newest and worth experimenting with. For an optimal workflow, try generating with Venice SD35 first, then Upscale and Enhance. You might discover some surprisingly strong results.
It’s very cool, but it is not perfect. It is not at the Midjourney or ChatGPT level of AI art performance yet. However, Venice is closer than any small team around. It’s the equivalent of watching a great indie band sell out Madison Square Garden.
