The rise of AI has everyone asking the same nerve-wracking question: “Is AI going to take my fucking job?”
It’s a fair question, considering how fast this technology is advancing. Love it or hate it, AI is already reshaping industries, and it will not slow down.
So, let’s break it down—what’s actually happening, which jobs are on the chopping block, and how you can make sure you’re not left behind?

AI in the Job Market: What’s the Real Deal?
If you don’t know this for some reason, you should: AI isn’t going anywhere.
It’s nearly 2025, and if you’ve been paying attention, you’ll know that AI isn’t just some buzzword—it’s revolutionizing the way we work.
Since early 2023, I’ve been tracking its progress, and here’s the reality: AI is a double-edged sword. Sure, it’s creating jobs, but it’s also taking over a bunch of them. And while it won’t make all jobs disappear, the workforce is going to look pretty different in a few years.
Overall, I see AI amounting to a slight net negative on the number of people in the workforce. It will create jobs, but it will take slightly more of them. If you don’t want it to take yours, then keep reading.

Jobs AI WILL Take
Not all jobs are equally at risk of being taken by AI.
The more repetitive and predictable your role, the bigger the target on your back.
Here’s a quick list of jobs that, in my opinion, will not survive the AI revolution. This is not an all-encompassing list, but it’s one that I feel confident about. With that said, it’s just my opinion, and I don’t have a crystal ball.
Although AI can also do creative tasks, I don’t see it completely replacing Creatives at anywhere near the scale of the jobs listed below. AI is more like creative jet fuel—it will burn lower-performing creative workers by taking their jobs and will boost the high-performers. So, be a high performer and leverage AI as much as possible.
Jobs that will go away because of AI:
• Customer Service: Chatbots are already handling simple queries, and they’re only getting smarter.
• Fast Food Workers: Say hello to kiosks and automated kitchens.
• Data Entry: If it’s boring and repetitive, AI’s got it covered.
• Entry-Level Corporate Jobs: AI can already handle intern-level tasks.
• Telemarketing: Let’s be honest—no one’s crying over this one.
• Translators: Advanced ChatGPT Voice Mode can already act as an incredible translator. It’s not perfect, but give it a year or two (tops), and it will be.
• Medical Billing: AI can process claims faster than Nancy ever could.
• Drivers: Autonomous cars and trucks are already here. Tesla and Waymo are just the beginning.
• Warehouse Workers: Companies like Amazon are replacing human labor with robotics as we speak.
• Proofreaders: AI can already do this perfectly. We created a Proofreader GPT for it. It’s great – use it!
If you’re in one of these roles, it’s time to start thinking about your next move. Now. Do it.
How to Stay Ahead of AI & Not Have It Take Your Job
Here’s the good news: you’re NOT powerless. There are plenty of ways to future-proof your career and make sure AI is working for you, not replacing you.
1. Learn to Work with AI:
Don’t fight it—use it. Whether it’s AI-powered project management tools or creative assistants, learning how to leverage this tech can make you more productive (and much harder to replace). Use as many AI tools as possible, and learn as many use cases as possible.
2. Upskill and Pivot:
Look into industries that AI can’t easily disrupt. Skilled trades, emergency services, police, and medicine are safer bets. Invest in yourself through training or certifications to stay competitive. Or, if all else fails, just become a professional athlete or lobbyist. Robots can’t hit home runs.
3. Start Your Own Business:
Want real job security? Be your own boss. Want proof? If it weren’t for AI, Run The Prompts wouldn’t exist. AI can help you immensely with things like marketing, inventory, taxes, writing, data analytics, and customer support, giving you a leg up on your competitors. That competitive window is closing every day though, so NOW is the best time to take action.
4. Keep Learning:
AI is evolving, and you should too. Stay in the loop with workshops, Meetups, courses, and industry news so you can adapt as the landscape changes. Wrapping It Up – Are You Doomed to Unemployment?
Yes, AI will change everything, but it’s not the end of the world. If you aren’t lazy, then think of it as an opportunity to grow and innovate. AI won’t just take jobs—it’ll create new ones and transform existing ones. Although I do think it will be a net negative for overall employment, you need to stay proactive, and you can turn this challenge into a chance to level up beyond everyone you know.
Basically… I don’t see it ending in a utopia, but I also don’t see it ending in mass unemployment either.
So, what’s the bottom line? Don’t wait for the AI wave to hit you—have a beer and ride it. Start now, learn the tools, run the prompts, and position yourself as someone who rose to the challenge instead of falling on their face. The future is coming fast, and it’s up to you to keep up or get left behind in the digital dust.
